【Meditation Session】

【What to do at the conclusion】

【If you end your session while still wanting to meditate, you will be eager to reenter each future session. [61] Otherwise, it is said that you will feel nauseous when you see the cushion.】

For those who have practiced before, if you have seriously tried, you would have had that experience. Or something like this could occur during your prostrations to Buddha. Normally your thoughts run wild, but you get to a point where your mind becomes very peaceful when you are prostrating. Ah-ya, you would feel at that time, or perhaps unconsciously, a feeling of gratitude, or unconsciously a sense of joy. Even sometimes when you prostrate, without being aware of it, you would start to cry your heart out. Even though you may be crying hard, you feel joyful in your heart. This could happen with anything [you practice].

But then when we are in this situation, ah-ya, it is great and we want to continue. But that is not what he tells you to do here! When you discover this kind of joy, you will feel, "Ah-ya, I got it right! I am going to meditate now." That is the mindset of "still wanting to meditate." Eh, that is the marvelous part! We would ordinarily continue on when we have this joy. But what does he tell us? Stop. So let us think about this. Why would you stop when you get it right? That is the superbly skillful method of a great excellent teacher. That is beautiful! He tells you to stop when you get it right. What would it be like when you stop? Once you exit the session, you would think, "This was so great!" So even though you have ended the meditation, you wholeheartedly and continuously intend to get back to do it again. Do you believe it?
