Finance Executive
Job Description:
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
Maintain accurate financial records (ledgers, journals, etc.)
Process and manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
Perform reconciliation of bank statements and payment gateway statements to ensure accuracy of collection records
Oversee the management and disbursement of petty cash in compliance with the established petty cash policy
2. Collection
Conduct daily settlements with the counter staff to ensure that the cash received matches the settlement report generated from the Sparrow system.
Ensure timely deposit of all collected cash in accordance with established procedures
Handle receipts disputes and adjustments
Perform the opening, counting, and depositing of donations collected from donation boxes located at the monastery and other district locations
3. Financial Reporting
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Support month-end and year-end closing processes
Prepare reports for management as needed (e.g., cash flow, expense tracking)
4. Tax & Compliance Support
Assist with quarterly GST submissions
Ensure compliance with local financial regulations
Support audits by preparing necessary documentation
5. Liaison & Coordination
Communicate with vendors/suppliers, and donors on financial matters
Coordinate with external auditors, IRAS and banks
Support other departments with financial data or documents
6. System Management
Use accounting software (Sparrow)
Ensure data accuracy and integrity within accounting systems
7. Others
Carry out other ad hoc duties as assigned, such as supporting events and pujas by managing donation boxes and handling the exchange of small denomination notes.
Job Requirements:
Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualifications
At least three years of experience in managing full sets of accounts
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
Possess knowledge of financial regulations and standards, including IFRS and GST regulations applicable to charitable organizations
Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and strong organizational abilities to manage financial records and tasks effectively
