【The Meditation Session】
【What to do at the conclusion】
【Therefore, meditate in many short sessions. 】
It does not need to be long, there is a great reasoning behind this! By the time when we can truly do meditation sessions, as I met up with an excellent teacher later, he told us - [to do it for] 4 to 5 minutes. The principle was mentioned previously. Now we have not even understood the principles. If we do not understand, it will be useless to try. After telling you, back then, it was certainly done this way. The teacher will tell you the key point, then once you try, here is the vital point! Now when we heard something, if we let it go after we have heard it, it is of no use. After hearing it, you should continue to contemplate on what he said. Then, use it! It is hard to figure things in your mind in the beginning. But after a while you will have some sense of it. He will ask you what is your state, and you need to tell him. Those who are diligent to learn will not even wait for him to ask, you will naturally go and ask him. You will say what the state is like after you have meditated. He will tell you which one is right and which one is wrong. Then, you abide on it and not waver. He will let you try a few minutes. Then at that time you will be very clear, eh, how does "excitement" make you run off and how did "laxity" come about? So when we first begin to learn, he will tell you, do just 5 minutes. Once you get the 5 minutes, then when you go back, do it for 15 minutes. Then at that time, he will wait for you to gradually become competent at it, and he will increase it slowly.
