A Strong Determination to Help the Students

You must realize that providing guidance to a person's heart is an uphill task, due to the great hardship you have to incur! You have to repeatedly explore, observe and deliberate.  In addition, his mood is unpredictable, he could be close to you at certain times yet distant at other times. In moments such as these, you must remain firmly consistent in your disposition 一 when you are kind to me, I will treat you in this way; a few days later, you are unkind to me, I will still treat you the same way; you think of me negatively, I am like this; you go against me, and I am still like this. I am unswerving from start to finish, my heart towards you remains unchanged.

Through these many times of turbulence, he will come to realise, "Oh, you won't change!". His strong resistance towards you will gradually dissipate.  On the other hand, if you had reacted in tandem with his changing moods, all your hard work would have come to naught. You simply would not be able to help him. Please bear in mind! Strengthen your determination to help the students again and again.  You must cause the "you" in the students' mind to be resolutely firm 一 you will remain unswerving from start to finish in caring for him, always be there for him as he grows and progress.

坚定帮助学生的心必须认识到引导一颗心非常不容易，你必须在他的生命中，付出极大的辛苦！反覆地探索、反覆地观察、反覆地琢磨、而且他的心情变幻不定，对你忽尔远，忽尔近，在这种变幻不定的过程中，你必须站住你的位置──你对我好，我对你这样；过几天你对我不好，我还是对你这样；你对我非理作意，我是这样；你跟我对抗，我还是这样，始终如一，我对你的心不变。
 
经历过这样多次的折腾之后，他慢慢就知道说：“喔，原来你不变啊！”慢慢地他那个对抗的心就没了。如果你随着他的态度而起伏，那你就会前功尽弃，根本无法帮到他。请记住！再再坚定帮助学生的心。一定要把自己在学生中的形象固定住，那就是——始终如一地关爱他，陪伴他成长。
