【谓重愚痴，】 
这是第一个，所以真正的「重愚痴」，第一件事情正对治的就是什么呢？正知见。所以我们尽管没有得到正知见，当我自己觉得：唉呀！我是错的。你有这个的话，这个愚痴就绝对不会重。真正重愚痴的人，他自己总觉得自己对的，总为自己辩护。这个实际上这种心情，这个本身就是个愚痴的现象。

【being ignorant,】

This is the first one, therefore regarding the real "severely ignorant", what is the exact remedy for this first one? The correct philosophical view. Therefore, even though we have not obtained the correct view yet, if I do feel, "Ah!  I am wrong"; if you've got this [attitude], your ignorance absolutely will not be as severe. Those people with really severe ignorance will always feel that he is right and always defend himself. Actually, this type of attitude is an appearance of ignorance.
