With a constant maintenance of your mindfulness

【Meditation Session】
【What to do in between meditation sessions】【Restraining the sensory faculties - that with which you restrain the sensory faculties... with a constant maintenance of your mindfulness…】

We use the Dharma Jewel to restrain our six sensory faculties. We need to get familiar with this Dharma Jewel. Once we get familiar with it, we will not forget and lose it. Otherwise, it would be just like our current state. We would say, "Ah-ya, I already understand it, but I just cannot do it." Why? Perhaps you haven't truly understood it and perhaps you only understand a little bit of the text now, and that is like selling quack remedy medicinal plaster. Even if you truly understand it, and if you did not seriously contemplate and reflect, then sorry, at that time, your mind still concords with the 3 poisons. If one phrase is said wrongly (by others), you would start to have hostility. If someone said something which flatters you, you start to become big-headed. That is in complete concordance with attachment. The rest of the time, you are in a foolish and ignorant state. What's the use of that? So he [Master Tsong-Kha-Pa] tells us, we need to repeatedly contemplate. Put in place the right view here, so at that time you will be able to do it definitely [restrain the sensory faculties…with a constant maintenance of your mindfulness].
