【Meditation Session】【Actual session-How to sustain the meditation in general】

【Without exceeding or falling short of what you have determined, sustain your meditation with mindfulness and vigilance. 】

At that time, you need to sustain both, not missing any part of it.  What are we referring to?  "Mindfulness" and "vigilance," it is these two words.  All meditation is contained in these two words.  One is "mindfulness" and the other is "vigilance."  This is the reason that when you formally meditate you will be very clear as to what you are doing.  If you recite the Buddha's name, this one iteration at present is done with clarity and lucidity.  This is called "mindfulness."  You are also very much aware that you are mindful of the correct object.  So you will let it continue.  Because you have vigilance, so when you are mindful of the correct object, you will let this keep going on.  If you have strayed from this mindfulness, you will pull your mind back the moment you detect this.  This is called mindfulness and vigilance.  But these two things are essentially one.  There is a great deal to be learned for these two things. But you will have to wait all the way until the time we finally explain serenity to hear this in detail.  If you just hear this now and try to put it into practice, sorry, this means if you have great virtuous roots then you will advance quickly.  But if you do not have virtuous roots, then for you to try to figure this out just after hearing this, the more you try, the more you are wrong.
