A human life of leisure and opportunity – Can I practice when I’m in the human realm?
[The stages of how the students train their minds after they have relied on the teacher]
[1. An exhortation to take full advantage of a life of leisure and opportunity]
[a. The identification of leisure and opportunity]
Even if you occasionally generate a little [bit of religious attitude], the suffering torments you! There is no way to practice, no way to practice. We don’t even need to go to the extent of the three miserable realms. If we were to pick the worst suffering, the worst suffering in the human realm, you have no idea how much better, how much better that is when compared to the three miserable realms. Even when we are in the human realm, can we practice? Can we practice? Today my teeth ache; today my head aches; today I’m a little bit not feeling well. We don’t even have to go to the extent of pain, ah! I am lethargic after breakfast; feel weak when I am hungry. Think about it, isn’t it? So this won’t work, won’t work! Therefore, once you fall to the miserable realms, it is absolutely impossible [to practice the Dharma].
