What Should Young People Do With Their Lives Today?

In celebration of Youth Day earlier this month, I ruminated on the significance of being a youth in the world we live in today. 

A quote struck me so powerfully that I feel the compulsive need to share it with all of you:

"What should young people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured" ~ Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

Yes, I want to create this stable community that Kurt Vonnegut Jr. spoke about with so much conviction. But, I looked at myself and my not so big group of youth core leaders and wonder, if we would ever make it. Helpless, I supplicated to the Three Jewels for help and like an answered prayer, another quote caught my eye and gave me the strength to carry on with what I was doing.

So... to my amazing team of youth core leaders and all the youths out there who are making positive changes to this world in every possible way, I say to you, "Keep the faith. We will get there."
