希求解脱 : 生死根本冤家

你认得了这个取蕴的特质以后,那个时候你才会产生大厌离,要不然我们一天到晚就忙什么?忙这个东西。实际上呢这个才是我们的生死根本怨家,生死根本怨家!所以佛一再告诉我们,这个东西是一无是处,一无是处啊!这唯一的好处是什么?凑现在这个东西能够修行。因为这样的关係,所以你为了修行,你还逼不得已地要吃的、要住的。那吃怎么办?去讨饭,讨到什么只要塞饱肚子就行;住呢,唉呀,你哪里都可以,树下一宿就得。现在我们呢远不止此,因为我们不认识,所以一天到晚就讲究这个东西,一天到晚讲究这个。因为讲究这个呢,一切的烦恼是由此而生,一切烦恼由此而生!

【Mind intent on liberation 】– Root adversary of cyclic existence

When you understand the attributes of the appropriated aggregates, that would be the time you develop great disenchantment.  Otherwise, what would we busy ourselves with all day long?  We would be busy with this.  But in reality, this is the root adversary of cyclic existence, the root adversary of cyclic existence!  Hence the Buddha tells us time and again, that this thing is devoid of any merit, devoid of any merit!  What is its only benefit?  We take advantage of this for practice.  Because of this, in order to practice, you are forced to eat, and to live somewhere.  But what would you eat?  You would go out for alms.  You would eat just whatever given to fill your stomach.  As for living, ah-ya, you can live anywhere, even a night under the tree would do.  But what we have now is far beyond that, because we don't recognize this, so we are particular about all these all day long, particular about these all day long.  Because we are particular about it, all the afflictions arise from this, all the afflictions arise from this!
