希求解脱 ： 不敢听不敢看

说实在，有的人读那个经，有的人曾经告诉我：「唉呀，法师啊！听了这个，我就不敢听、不敢看了。」我说：「为什么？」「唉呀，看看那个都好怕哦，就是这样，做也做不到。」如果是你们碰到这种情况，你们怎么说？以前我也这样想，后来不，后来不！因为你做不到的结果你退下来，退下来安乐吗？假如退下来安乐的话，谁也不愿意做，我是第一个绝对不愿意做，喔唷，做这个苦事情干什么！因为你退下来，是只有一条路 —— 死路一条，永远受无边的大苦。

【Mind intent on liberation 】– Afraid to listen, afraid to read

Honestly, someone read the sutra, and told me this before, "Ah-ya, Venerable!  After I heard this, I am afraid to keep listening, or to keep reading."  I said, "Why?"  "Ah-ya, when I look at that, I am very frightened.  Just like that, and I still cannot do what is right."  If you get into situations like this, what would you say?  I used to think in this way too, but later on, no, no!  Later, no!  Even if you can't do it and back down, will there be happiness after you back down?  If there is happiness after backing down, then no one would be willing to do this in the first place.  I would be the first to absolutely not willing to do  this, oh-yo, what is the point of engaging in such a painstaking task!  (It is) Because if you back down, there is only one path - a dead end, and you will forever have to endure boundless sufferings.
