听闻 : 如何听闻？

听过了记不住，也不想去记，那还是没有用，还是没有用！所以正规地来说，一定要全部精神贯注在这里。然后听的时候，还要不要说拿我的想法去想，你一拿你的想法去想就不相应了。真正应该什么呢？以菩提心相应的心，你晓得真正要学无上菩提，要学一切法。他现在在教，全心全意先听懂了他说的什么，照着他去做，这才是我们相应的。然后听完了以后，牢牢地记在心里面，这个是我们必须要的条件。

【Listen to the teachings】- How to listen to the teachings？   

After listening and we are unable to remember, or do not bother to remember, then it will still not help, it is still of no use! So, according to standards, one must devote one’s total attention. And while listening, do not apply “my” way of thinking. Once you apply your own way of thinking, then it is not concordant. What should be properly applied? [We should] be in accordance with the mentality of the spirit of enlightenment [Bodhicitta]. You recognize that to truly learn to attain sublime enlightenment, you have to learn the entirety of the teachings. Now that he is teaching, listen wholeheartedly to understand what he is saying first, and then apply accordingly. This is how we become aligned with the teaching. After hearing, steadfastly maintain the teaching in your mind. We need to have this necessary condition.
