【Intent on liberation】- Two things that are most difficult to remedy
What are you meditating on during the actual meditation?
"Contemplate on sensation [feeling] as suffering. Contemplate on the body as impure and utterly filthy." These two things are the most difficult ones for us to remedy, most difficult ones to remedy. But there are correct methods, correct methods [for remedying them]. When we talk about afflictions later, I will bring it up then. When you develop this one thought, that is when you will understand — you are again being turned by your afflictions. Then after you have been turned [by afflictions], truly whirling around in afflictions, indeed none of us can do anything about it. This is extremely horrible. Therefore, you must understand it beforehand and then reflect and examine it. When the sensory object [or situation] appears, and when a mental manifestation that accords with the sublime teaching arises [in your mind stream], that is when your powerful remedy has taken effect. That is when you will be delighted. "Ah, I have actually won a battle today!" That sort of happiness is real happiness.
