Relying on The Excellent Teacher】未依过患者 The faults of not relying on the teacher P12

【for, as a result of not respecting these people, the teachings will disappear from your mind. 】
So this is what we must know as Buddhist practitioners. Aren’t you learning from the Buddha? Take a look at what Buddha is like? If you understand this, then you would know why wherever Sung-Pu-Wa went, when he heard the two people giving the teachings, he went to listen. After he listened, he said, "I received two benefits." Hasn't the Buddha clearly demonstrated this? Even though he had attained Buddhahood, and Ananda, Ananda had not resolved his own issues [had not escaped cyclic existence ]; he was a stream-enterer on the way to arhatship. But as soon as he said those two words [joyous perseverance], the Buddha became so happy. This was generated in his mind – respect for the teaching. So now we should reflect upon ourselves. Do we have respect? If you have respect, then how could you possibly reproach [your teachers]? How could you possibly resent [your teachers]? There will be no more of that! Hence we must experience it for ourselves from here, then we would gradually begin to understand.
