Teacher’s 2019 New Spring Well Wishes !
Hello Everyone,
Happy New Year. Today is the first day of the year of pig. May everyone make progress enthusiastically, may all things be very auspicious.
Earlier, one lay devotee discussed with me about the way to celebrate Chinese New Year. I thought for a moment. If you really let me give a suggestion, I would suggest that during family gatherings, we sincerely mention everyone’s contribution to the family and the society, as well as improvements in conduct over the past year. Be grateful to the elders and encouraging to the young. May the atmosphere be sincere and warm, and everyone can together create & accumulate a powerful virtuous deed of rejoicing. After that, dedicate all virtuous deeds from the last one year and throughout our infinite lives using the dedication in “A Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of life”.
Human life is akin to a wish fulfilling jewel, the Dharma too is like a wish fulfilling jewel. Our faith in the excellent Teacher and the Three Jewels is as stated in the “Array of Stalks Sutra”, which mentioned that faith is the origin of the path, the mother of all good qualities; it nurtures and increases all roots of virtue. Therefore, having obtained a human life, met the Dharma and also having faith, it can be said that we are very, very blessed. We should wisely use these karmic rewards to create even more karmic rewards and benefit more people.
Buddhism has 2 right views - karma and emptiness. After attaining the right view about karma and acting according to ethical discipline, we can sever the sufferings of the three miserable realms. And, by realizing emptiness, we can eliminate the sufferings of cyclic existence. To actually realize dependent-arising & emptiness in the process of study, contemplation and practice is the aspiration of all practitioners.
In this new year, may we continue to move toward such a goal, and joyfully advance onward with a mind intent on benefiting others.
Aryadeva Bodhisattva’s “Four Hundred Stanzas” mentioned that:
without substantial karmic rewards and the ability to generate reasonable doubt in emptiness, even if one gives rise to just one thought of reasonable doubt, this can also shake the root of cyclic existence. Hence, we must not forget to seek for emptiness, and should continue to accumulate the merits for studying, contemplating, and practicing emptiness.
I wish that everyone make aspirations with me according to “A Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of life”:
May the poor find wealth,
Those weak with sorrow find joy;
May the forlorn find new hope,
Constant happiness and prosperity.
May all who are sick and ill
Quickly be freed from their illness,
And may every disease in the world
Never occur again.
In all temples and monasteries
May reading and recitation flourish and remain;
May the Sangha always be in harmony
And may their purposes be accomplished.
May sentient beings again and again
Make offerings to all the Buddhas,
And may they constantly be joyful
With the inconceivable bliss of the Buddhas.
Once again, I wish everyone a Happy New New Year.
May everyone continue with the study, contemplation and practice of the stages on the path.
May all things be very auspicious!
老师 2019 新春祝福！
大家好
新年快乐 Happy New Year，今天是猪年的第一天，祝大家猪年奋发向上，诸事大吉。
之前有个居士跟我讨论过年的方式，我想了一下，如果实在让我提建议的话我就建议可以在家庭团聚的时候，认真诚挚地讲出，过去这一年大家对家人的付出，对社会的奉献，还有德行的进步，要感恩长辈，鼓励幼小，希望气氛真挚热烈，大家能够在一起造集，一个强猛的随喜的善业，然后就把这一年来的善行，还有无量劫的善行，一起用《入行论》的〈回向品〉回向。
人身有如如意宝，佛法有如如意宝，我们对善知识和三宝的信心，就像《华严经》说，信为道源功德母，长养一切诸善根，所以得到人身，值遇佛法，又有信心，可以说我们是非常非常有福的人。我们应该善用这个福报，去创造更多的福报，去利益更多的人。
佛法有两大正见，业果见和空性见，获得了业果的正见，依律行持，就可以截断三恶趣的痛苦，而证悟空性就能破除轮回的痛苦，经过闻思修的过程，在身心中去实证缘起性空，是所有修行者的理想。
愿我们在新的一年里，继续朝着这样的目标，以利他的心意欢喜前行。
圣天菩萨所着的《四百论》中说：
薄福于此法 虽疑亦不生
纵虽起疑惑 亦震撼三有
如果没有深厚的福报，对空性也无法生起合理的怀疑，哪怕生起一念合理的怀疑，也能震动三有的根本，所以一定不要忘了去希求空性，要持续地累积能够闻思修空性的资粮。
希望大家和我一起依照《入行论》来发愿
愿贫得财富 苦者享安乐
愿彼绝望者 振奋意永固
愿诸病有情 速脱疾病苦
亦愿众生疾 毕竟永不生
愿诸伽蓝寺 读诵以兴盛
僧伽常和合 僧事悉成办
愿诸有情众 殷勤供诸佛
依佛无边福 恒常获安乐
