Gathering for R2/3 Bilingual Students
On the evening of 17 July 2026, approximately 30 senior students gathered for a meaningful evening of reflection, fellowship, and communal celebration. Centred on the theme "Lotuses in a Pond", the programme unfolded through five thoughtfully curated segments.
The evening began with a mindful dinner, during which participants reflected on the Five Contemplations, setting a tone of gratitude and awareness. This was followed by an interactive game that illustrated our interdependence as members of a community, fostering both engagement and sustained laughter among the participants.
The programme then transitioned into a collective lotus activity, where students anonymously reflected on personal challenges they had encountered and the resilience they had cultivated through Dharma and Lamrim teachings. This reflective exercise encouraged participants to recognise their own growth while appreciating the transformative role of the teachings in their lives.
Deputy Director, Patrick Chua, subsequently shared an inspiring message via Zoom, on the importance of remaining connected to the community, emphasising the value of virtuous companionship in sustaining one's learning and practice.
The evening concluded with a solemn Dharma Lamp circle, during which each participant shared a meaningful way in which the Buddhist college/their virtuous friends had supported them on their journey. Students responded with sincerity, warmth, and openness, creating an atmosphere of deep honesty, gratitude, and presence.
Like lotuses flourishing in a pond, we continue to rise above life's challenges through the wisdom of the Dharma and the unwavering support of our virtuous community. The evening served as a timely reminder that, together, we cultivate resilience, compassion, and the aspiration to continue growing on the path of learning and practice.
