On 13 Oct 2019, BWM held a puja on the ordainment day of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva.

About 800 people attended the puja and many of them were actually first timers to the monastery!

Venerable Ru Quan presided over the puja and he explained the auspicious essence of the 6-syllable mantra, Om Mani Padme Hum, so that attendees’ 2 millions times of reciting the mantra would be more effective, experiencing the strength and blessings of the compassion by Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva.

Venerable shared that the Great Compassion Mantra is the longer version, while the 6-syllable mantra is the short version, also the key mantra of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva. The speed of reciting the mantra depends on the focus of our mind.

Blessed goodies from vast offering to the Triple Gem were distributed to everyone to bring home for their loved ones and friends to receive the blessings too.

Venerable Ru Quan reminded all that every sentient being actually wished to receive the blessings of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva. To achieve this, we must first have faith, and practice according to the teachings.

Under the guidance of Venerable, both the Sangha and laities completed reciting 2 million times of the 6-syallable mantra - Om Mani Padme Hum, bringing the 3-hour auspicious puja to a perfect end.
