【THE THREE TYPES OF PERSONS】- Spreading the broad, white wings of reality and conventionality

【As Candrakirti’s Commentary on the “Middle Way” states:

Spreading the broad, white wings of reality and conventionality,
The royal geese, escorted by the flock of living beings,
Fly on the winds of virtue to supremacy
On the far shore of a buddha’s ocean-like qualities.】

This royal goose guides all living beings spreading what to advance? Spreading both wings, where one is the ultimate truth and the other is conventional truth. Ultimate truth is the white aspect, and conventional truth is the broad aspect. “White” represents purity and completeness; “broad” means it is all-inclusive. Once these are perfected, then to “fly on the winds of virtue” is to skillfully apply the practice and reach the shore of all Buddhas’ good qualities. This is the pinnacle. 【如《入中论》云：“真俗白广翅圆满，鹅王列众生鹅前，承善风力而超过，诸佛德海第一岸。”】

那么这个鹅王引导一切众生向前，展什么？展两个翅膀，一个是真谛，一个是俗谛。真谛是白，俗谛是广；“白”就是清净，彻底圆满，“广”就是广大无遗。这个圆满了，然后呢“承善风力”，要善巧地行持，然后呢这个超过诸佛的德岸，这个是最第一。这引论上面。
