业果 : 他世现行犹如梦

【《本生论》亦云：「由修善不善诸业，诸人即成惯习性，如是虽不特策励，他世现行犹如梦。】

这个话。由于我们修或者是善业，或者不善业，平常你们习惯养成功这个不善的，或者现在努力要努力去做善的，你养成功了以后变成功习惯。现在实际上呢，我们每一个人都在我们的习性当中，习性当中，所以真正修行就要把那个习性改过来，就要改过来。那么这个习性是多生多劫一直会延下去的，当这个习性养成功了以后怎么办呢？下面这两句话，注意哦！「虽不特策励，他世现行犹如梦。」你养成功了习惯以后，到下一世它现行的时候，像梦当中一样。这梦当中什么意思啊？你在梦当中梦见的你也不晓得，梦当中就是这个样，跟着这个梦境转，对不对？

【Karma】- In other lives you will experience their effects, like a dream

Again, the Garland of Birth Stories:

By accustoming themselves to virtuous and nonvirtuous karma
Humans become habituated to these actions.

Though you may ignore such matters,
In other lives you will experience their effects, like a dream.

These words. By accustoming ourselves to virtuous or nonvirtuous karma, normally you have habituated yourselves to nonvirtue or perhaps you put in great effort now to strive to do virtue. After you have nurtured it, it will become your habit. Actually now, each of us is run by our habits, run by our habits. Therefore, true practice is to change the habits, to change the habits. This habit is something that will continue for many lives and eons. What happens after you have successfully nurtured the habit? For the next two phrases, pay attention to them! "Though you may ignore such matters, in other lives you will experience their effects, like a dream." After you have successfully nurtured the habit, when it manifests in the next life, it will be like a dream. What does it mean to be like a dream? That is when you are dreaming, you don't even know what is going on. That is the way it is in a dream. You just go along with things in a dreamland, right?
