Cultivation of Our Mind – What to do when you observe faults (of others)?
【How To Listen To and Explain The Teachings】
【2. Developing reverence for the teaching and the instructor】
If [he is] not good at it, then you do not need to listen to him! It is just that simple, why do you need to censure and deride him? If he is not good, that is his own matter! We would definitely not want to visit hell and deride the beings there, why do you bother to do so? He is already very pitiful. You would never deride a cow [a miserable realm being], because it is already in an unfortunate state. If he is wrong, being wrong is his matter. If you deride him, you are not any better than him! He does so out of ignorance. If you have wisdom, you should improve yourself. If you don’t improve yourself, by deriding him, wouldn’t that make you the same as the cow? This is absolutely true. So if you deride him, this proves that you are equal to him or even worse, such a bad egg!
