Destroyer of the Enemy

The Buddha has an epithet - Destroyer of the Enemy (translated as "arhat" in chinese), which means he can subdue all "enemies". This "enemy" does not refer to external enemies, but the afflictive and cognitive obscurations in our mindstream.
