Welcoming Ms Jane Ittogi to BW Monastery This Vesak

Honoured to host Ms Jane Ittogi on her visit to BW Monastery during the Vesak Day celebrations.

Her visit offered a meaningful experience of reflection and cultural appreciation, beginning with the sacred Bathing of the Buddha ritual, symbolising the purification of body, speech, and mind. This was followed by heartfelt flowers and light offerings, expressing gratitude, aspiration, and devotion.

The journey continued with a viewing of the Buddha Relics, inspiring reverence and deep reflection on the Buddha’s teachings. She also visited the Guanyin Shrine Hall, a space of compassion and inner stillness, and explored the 12 Deeds of the Buddha education exhibition, which beautifully presents the life journey and enlightenment of the Buddha.

A special highlight was the sharing on the bridging of Buddhism, arts, and culture within BW Monastery and the wider community, showcasing how tradition continues to inspire contemporary values and community engagement.

The visit concluded with a meaningful dialogue, focusing on Intergenerational Leadership Learning, values, and the role of mindfulness in shaping positive contributions to society.

Amid the serene atmosphere of prayers, reflection, and togetherness, this visit served as a gentle reminder of compassion, wisdom, and harmony in action.

Wishing everyone a peaceful and blessed Vesak Day.
