Recitation Experiential Class Report
The Recitation Experiential Class was held on 26 August 2026, from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the BW Main Shrine Hall, with a total attendance of 77 participants, including volunteers. The evening was hosted by Emcee Sis Amelia, who guided everyone through the programme. We were also grateful to have Venerable Benwen with us to deliver a motivating speech on the importance of establishing a recitation group and how recitation can benefit both students and the wider community.
Venerable Benwen shared the importance of having a respectful and sincere attitude when listening to the Dharma, as well as maintaining a genuine aspiration and willingness to learn. He encouraged everyone to approach recitation with reverence and sincerity, seeing it as a way to make offerings to and praise the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
He also shared on the meaning and significance of Buddhist chanting (梵呗与唱诵). Chanting is not merely singing or a form of musical performance. As the Master has taught, authentic Buddhist chanting requires a high level of spiritual practice and inner cultivation. Through sincere chanting and praising the virtues of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, we accumulate merits and wisdom, while making offerings to the Three Jewels. At the same time, chanting helps us to gather and settle our body, speech and mind. Through sincere devotion in our chanting, we learn to use our body, speech and mind to respectfully honour the Three Jewels, allowing the mind to become more calm and focused.
The programme began with Group 1 sharing their 13 years of experience in recitation and puja practice. Sister Caiyun and Sister Li Ping shared their personal experiences and insights, giving participants a better understanding of how the recitation group has grown and developed over the years. They also led the audience in chanting the “Praise to the Buddha Verse” (赞佛偈), allowing everyone to experience the beauty and joy of recitation together.
This was followed by Group 2, where the different recitation teams shared their journey and development. Brother Manfred introduced the Chinese Recitation Team, while Brother Qing Yuan shared about the English Recitation Team. Brother Patrick then shared the journey of the Percussion Team, including how the team was started in 2024 and how it has developed since then. The teams also presented the new melodies for the Vast Offering Ritual (广供仪轨) in both Chinese and English, giving the audience an opportunity to listen to and experience the different styles of recitation.

念诵体验课于2026年8月26日晚上7时30分至9时30分，在BW大雄宝殿举行，共有77人出席，包括义工。
当晚的活动是由司仪Amelia师姐主持，她带领大家顺利完成各项流程。我们也非常感恩本闻法师莅临现场，为大家开示及勉励的话，讲解成立念诵小组的重要性，以及念诵如何让学员和更广泛的社群受益。
本闻法师分享了在听法时应该保持恭敬和虔诚的态度是非常的重要的，以及保持希求和愿意学习的心。他也鼓励大家以虔诚和真诚的心去诵经，把它看作是在向佛菩萨作供养和赞美的方式来作祈求。
他还分享了关于佛教唱诵（梵呗与唱诵）的意义和重要性。唱诵不仅仅是唱歌或是一种音乐表现。正如上师所教，真正的佛教唱诵需要高度的修行和内心的培养。通过真诚地唱诵和赞美佛菩萨的功德，我们可以积累福德和智慧及供养三宝。同时，唱诵也可以帮助到我们集中和安顿身、口、意三业。通过在唱诵中的恭敬虔诚作意，我们学会用身、口、意去恭敬三宝，让心可以更加平静与专注。
这个活动以第一组分享了他们13年的诵经和礼拜实践经验开始。彩云姐妹和李平姐妹分享了她们的个人经历和见解，让参与者更好地了解透过学习念诵小组多年来的成长与发展。她们还带领大家一起吟诵“赞佛偈”，让每个人都能一起感受诵经的美好与快乐。
接下来是第二组，不同的念诵团队分享了他们的历程和发展。Manfred师兄介绍了中文念诵组，而清源师兄分享了英文念诵组的情况。Patrick师兄随后介绍了打击乐队的历程，包括团队是如何在2024年成立的，以及自那以来的发展情况。这些团队还呈现演示了新版的中英文版的《广供仪轨》，让观众有机会聆听并感受不同的念诵风格。
