Good Friday Triathlon at Bedok Reservoir
While many embraced the Good Friday holiday with a well-deserved lie-in, 35 spirited souls had other plans — diving into the annual BW Triathlon 2025 at Bedok Reservoir with the same joy and determination that’s fast becoming tradition.
Now in its third year, this community-driven event continues to unite BW Monastery students and supporters through movement, mindfulness, and meaningful connection. It all began at 8 a.m. with a refreshing 800-metre swim at the Home Team NS swimming pool. Fueled by cheer squads of family and friends, the energy was palpable — both in the water and poolside.

Then came the next challenge: cycling five scenic loops around Bedok Reservoir. Unlike typical races with strict timing or fancy bikes, our format is delightfully simple — “own time, own target.” Gravel paths and the occasional bump made things interesting, but spirits stayed high as participants pedalled at their own pace, supported by an ever-encouraging atmosphere.
By late morning, it was time to lace up for the final leg: the run. With the sun climbing and sweat glistening, every stride was a small triumph. Some sprinted, others jogged, but all pressed forward with the same goal — to finish what they started.
And finish they did — with wide smiles, high fives, and stories ready to be retold over a much-deserved lunch. We gathered at a nearby restaurant, exhausted yet uplifted, surrounded by laughter, shared victories, and a few sore legs.
As with every other year, BW Triathlon wasn’t just about fitness — it was about friendship, fortitude, and the joy of rising to a challenge together. A massive shoutout to our volunteers and organisers who kept the wheels turning (quite literally), and to every participant who showed up and gave their best.
As the sun set on another successful edition, we left with sun-kissed skin, full hearts, and a quiet promise: we’ll be back next year, stronger, faster, and just as ready to dive in.
Until then — keep swimming, keep cycling, keep running, and most importantly… keep smiling.
