Savoring the Timeless Charm of Mid-Autumn: Minister Ong Ye Kung, Mr Vikram Nair, Mr Ng Shi Xuan gracing Mid Autumn Celebrations
What a beautiful evening it was — celebrating Mid-Autumn the traditional way, surrounded by laughter, culture, and community spirit! We were deeply honored to have our Guest of Honour (VVIP) Minister Ong Ye Kung, Mr Vikram Nair, Mr Ng Shi Xuan, MP for Sembawang GRC grace the event and officially open our “Ancient Street”, joining the youth in reliving the heritage of olden days.
Guests strolled through the Ancient Street adorned with lanterns, savoring traditional treats and handmade delicacies. The air was filled with creativity and joy — from DIY lanterns, painted fans, scented sachets, to the delightful snow-skin mooncake workshop.
🖌️ The “Hundred Blessings” calligraphy mural, elegant poetry recitals, and the classic pitch-pot (投壶) game added to the vibrant festive spirit — bringing smiles and fond memories to all ages.
👘 Many also embraced the Hanfu experience, capturing timeless moments at our photobooth, as if stepping into a living scroll of ancient Chinese artistry.
As families, friends and community gathered together, we were reminded of the true essence of the festival — reunion, gratitude, and harmony.
We hope this celebration inspires more to join us at BW Monastery — a place where heritage, learning, and happiness come together. May this Mid-Autumn mark the beginning of an annual tradition that lights up hearts and preserves culture for generations to come.
