The Buddha’s Joyous Day: Completion Day of the annual week-long Ullambana Puja

Yesterday, over hundreds of devotees came together to participate in the Completion Day of the Ullambana Puja! During the Puja, we practiced the Ksitigarbha Repentance Sutra as well as offerings to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

Additionally, as it was the 15th of the 7th Lunar Month, it is when the Sangha ends their Vassa retreat - and hence 佛欢喜日! The Buddha said that on this day, offering alms to monks accumulates immense merit. It can bring great blessings and fortune to oneself, extend the lives and increase the happiness of one's parents in this life as well as one’s parents of the past seven lives. Participants had the chance to offer to our Sangha, while visualising that they’re offering to Sangha of the ten directions! As the Puja completes, everyone’s faces were brimming with happiness.

Rejoice to our volunteers who contributed not only to the completion day of the Ullambana Puja, but also the past week of Ullambana Pujas in the evening!
