Preparing for Ullambana Puja

The Ullambana Festival is an important period where Buddhists recall the kindness of ancestors and cultivate filial piety towards all beings. (Read more about the Ullambana here!)  It is also when the Sangha community completes their Vassa retreat.

This year, BW Monastery Sangha will be reciting Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva sutra every night from 12 August to 17 August, and on 18 August (Completion day) devoutly practice Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva sutra.

Today, our volunteers came together to set up the altar and offerings for Ullambana Festival! Rejoice to all the volunteers for their hardwork. We all look forward to the beautiful altars during the Puja!
