所以这个「忍」字啊，妙极了，心上一把刀！这一把刀摆在别的地方还可以马马虎虎，摆在这个地方，你向前一点最多刺破一点皮就算，再过、再过去的话，刺穿；摆在这个地方，一把刀摆上去，你向前一步的话送你命。现在送的什么命啊？法身慧命，这个肉身的命固然送掉了，法身的慧命的命是更可怕、更严重哦！

Patience – What are the disadvantages if you are unable to tolerate ?

Therefore the word “patience” [in Chinese] is marvellous. It is made up of the word “knife” on top of the word “heart” [or “mind”]! You can be careless if the knife is placed anywhere else. If you place it here and push it a little further, you would break some skin at most. If you push more, push more then you will pierce through it. If it is right here i.e. place the knife on top [of the heart], you will lose your life if you take one step further. What kind of life will you end up losing ? Your Dharma body, the life of wisdom. Not only will you lose your physical life, but also lose your Dharma body, the life of wisdom, which is even more horrifying and severe!
