The Ullambana Festival is an important period where Buddhists recall the kindness of ancestors and cultivate filial piety towards all beings. It is also when the Sangha community completes their Vassa retreat.
BW Monastery Sangha will be reciting Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva sutra every night from 12 August to 17 August, and on 18 August (Completion day) devoutly practise Ksitigarbha Repentance .
Everyone is invited to sincerely recite the Sutra, repent, and supplicate for blessings with a compassionate and filial heart, and make offerings to the Buddha and Sangha. With the merits accumulated, let’s supplicate to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for their blessings to eliminate the pandemic swiftly, the country and its citizens to have safety and peace, our parents to be healthy and have longevity, and be well and happy. Also, dedicating the merits towards our departed parents and ancestors to be reborn in happy realm or pure land, all beings in the 10 directions to be free from sufferings, eliminate obstacles and attain Buddhahood swiftly.

盂兰盆节是缅怀祖先、普渡行孝的重要节日，亦是僧众结夏安居圆满自恣日。 吉祥宝聚寺将从 8月12日 至 8月17日，每晚持诵《地藏经》；并于 8月18日（圆满日）虔礼《慈悲地藏宝忏》。
诚邀大众以慈孝心虔诚诵经礼忏，供佛斋僧，并以此功德祈求诸佛菩萨以慈悲愿力加被，全球疫情早日消除，国泰民安；祈愿现世父母增福延寿，身心安乐；回向已故父母及祖先往生善趣早登净土；十方有情消灾增福，离苦得乐，早证菩提。
