药师琉璃光如来，简称药师佛，与西方阿弥陀佛并列为解决众生生死问题之佛。药师佛的第七大愿：愿我来世，得菩提时，若诸有情，众病逼切，我之名号，一经其耳，众病悉除，身心安乐。

因应现下局势之趋，吉祥宝聚寺启建"除疫息灾祈福药师法会”，祈求药师佛愿力加被，早日消除冠状病毒疫情，并为众生祈求消灾增福延寿，得安乐利益，消除修行道上之障碍。

The Medicine Tathagata of Lapis Lazuli Light is also known as Medicine Buddha. Similar to the Western Pure Land Amitabha Buddha, Medicine Buddha also resolves to help all beings to be free from the suffering of birth and death. The 7th great vow of Medicine Buddha is as follows:

I vow that, in my future life and having attained Perfect Enlightenment, those who are tormented by diseases be free from diseases and troubles, once my name reaches their ears.

Due to the current pandemic situation, BW Monastery will conduct a Medicine Buddha grand puja to eliminate diseases, avert calamities, and seek blessings for all; May Medicine Buddha bestow blessings to eliminate COVID-19 soonest, for all beings to be free from calamities, have longevity, bliss, joy, and for obscurations on the path of cultivation be eliminated.
