药师琉璃光如来，又称大医王佛，因悲悯愁病贫苦一切有情，而立十二大愿，令诸有情悉得今生来世的安乐。

如能于药师佛圣诞之际，致心祈愿并以此供养回向父母，亲友，眷属，定能使其业障病障皆尽消除，身心安康，学法顺缘增长。

Medicine Buddha, also known as the supreme healer, due to his compassion towards sentient beings’ sufferings, made twelve great vows so that all beings will attain peace and happiness in current and future lifetimes.

If one makes offering on the birthday of Medicine Buddha, and dedicate the merits of the virtuous deed to our parents, families, and friends, it will help them overcome sickness and obstacles, be mentally and physically healthy, and have smooth conditions for learning the Dharma.
