On 8 Sep 2018, we plucked up our courage to embark on the first session of the monitor training course, not knowing what to expect. Some of us were recommended by our monitors, some wanted to take their learning further, some of us were excited, some of us were afraid. Fast forward a year later, 25 of us have completed this journey together, learning tips from various lecturers each week on the ten lessons introduction, creating presentation slides and presenting our assigned Dharma topics to the class, undergoing an eight-weeks attachment at a Lamrim class to experience being an assistant monitor.

The learning is immense and we would like to thank all the Lecturers, Monitors and the T&D department for their support and understanding, giving us the chance to learn and grow.

Thank you to Sister Adeline who has been the “mother” of the class, giving us guidance and lots of encouragement throughout this entire journey.

I was given the chance to re-look at all the lamrim content during the BLG monitor learning, it is a win-win way to upgrade yourself! – Eva Lai

The gradual intensity of the training is specially tailored to new trainees, making it easy for us to prepare ourselves to become a monitor. – Yim Yao Hua

The attachment has given me the opportunity to experience being an assistant monitor under great guidance. – Nina Lee

The monitor training course is an opportunity to learn, earn (merits) and have fun. Never a dull moment, always intriguing. Mai tu liao, Don't miss out!!! – Katherine Liew

I'm really grateful to have this opportunity to be part of this monitor training internship, which was thoughtfully planned for us to take on the tasks required by a monitor progressively over 8 sessions.  It is an experience not to be missed for all budding monitors who would like to build confidence, learn, practice and experiment different presentation techniques. As Monitors David and Mui Peng, as well as all the dharma brothers and sisters are very welcoming and encouraging, they helped me ease into class very quickly. Even though the internship has ended, I would still join in the class when I can. ^^ – Tan Poh Jee
