Caring Session by Ven Bensi ~6 June 2021

During our Lamrim class on Sunday morning, Venerable Bensi joined us during the session for an interactive care session, to find out more about how we have been coping with the pandemic, listening to our concerns and answering any questions we may have.

Venerable mentioned that during this time with the pandemic, many are affected inevitably in some ways. Our jobs may be lost. As we are staying closer together and spending more time with our family members, the opportunities for more conflicts may arise, but at the same time, we can also practise OMAK more. Whilst we grapple with the challenges, we should continue to strive on our practise, working at the solution to exit cyclic existence. We need to contemplate more about infinite lives when we view timelines and strive to continue to attend Lamrim lessons regularly.

Venerable also reminded us to take refuge and supplicate to Shifu, Teacher, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas often be it dissatisfaction, suffering and in whatever we want to achieve or accomplish. This is to develop the habit of always seeking their help and guidance so that at the time of death, we can still remember to call for Buddha’s help. Lastly, Venerable advised that we should continue to accumulate merits and clear away obstacles. Practicing offering seven cups of water everyday is an example suggested as it is an easy and fast way of merit accumulation.

We also took this precious opportunity to ask Venerable some questions we have related to Buddha dharma.

We were grateful for Venerable’s short time with us to help us clarify our doubts and look forward to more of these interactive sessions in the future.
