Body and Mind @ BWM Geylang district held the Thirty-Five Buddhas Repentance Practice, a talk on food additives as well as healthy dish cooking demonstration on 23/11/2019, 7pm to 8.45pm at Citiraya Building.

Mr. Wen ChuanBai and Ms. Hu DeZhen guided the participants by using the video of Venerable Ru Jun’s discourse, "My Unwavering Aspiration", on how to set the correct motivation prior to the repentance practice. That is, in order to help all sentient beings and to attain Buddhahood, I need to clear all obscurations and accumulate merits by doing repentance. With such pure aspiration, the participants completed the practice joyously.

The next segment was followed by a talk on food additives by Mr. Low Boon Eng. We are what we eat. The various food additives that enhance the flavours, colours and smell of our food are actually harmful to our body.

Our daily food intake consists of various food additives, though in small amount, unknowingly, it adds up to be large amount and eventually may cause us various sickness, such as headaches, vomiting, liver/kidney failure, etc.

A one-time food-additives top salesman and chemist Tsukasa Abe, who once helped developed cheaper, longer-lasting food for a supermarket realised the lurking danger after seeing the food he helped to engineer, was consumed by his beloved 3 years old daughter. So he quitted his job and now works in a firm that produces natural unprocessed salt. His book - "The Horrible Food Additives" was a best seller.

We are grateful that we get to enjoy and consume healthy products that were developed and/or available for sale at Yes Natural, of which they have been made with minimal food additives. All of these are made possible because of the guidance of our Master Jih-Chang who compassionately advocated the concept of loving-kindness for better health for all.

The program followed by a healthy dish cooking demonstration, and sharing of cooking tips through “sea velvet”, for losing weight, lowering of cholesterol, and nourishing the blood, etc. Participants got to sample the yummy dish. A few first timers turned up and found the programme to be useful.

身心灵之约@芽笼

23/11/2019, 今晚又到洗涤身心、补充能量的时候了。吉祥寺芽笼区,伟城三楼 7pm-8.45pm。 节目丰盛—三十五佛忏、座谈会和悦意烹调示范。

首先文讲师与胡讲师为节目掀开了序幕,引用如俊法师在"吾愿无悔"的开示。引导大众如何在礼拜三十无佛忏时的观想—我是为了帮助一切有情,我要成佛所以来拜忏净罪聚资。出席者皆非常欢喜受持拜忏。

接下来的座谈会介绍添加剂对身体带来的危害。据添加剂刘讲师说,增长常识,知道取舍,便可以更好的照顾自己和家人的身体健康。他也提及师父的恩德开创法人事业推广有机和慈心理念,让生活忙碌的现代人可以到悦意贸易购买到健康(无添加剂成分)的食品。

最后是悦意烹调示范的分享—“九层塔麻辣干炒海茸”。原来健康料理做法即简单又美味。现场也特地准备了很多食材,让与会者试吃也可把剩下的带回家,彼此学习“惜福和感恩”。有一些同学首次参加,纷纷分享收益不浅。
