If we spend more time on listening to the teachings, it will seem like we do not spend time on practice. This is overlooking the fact that listening is one the stages of practice, and that listening to the teachings in detail is a must. Listening and contemplation are the stages that must be followed for cultivation. Hence, these steps are extremely important.
