Auspicious Puja - 17 November 2019 (Every Sunday 9.30-10.45am)

Review of the Auspicious Puja by A Happy Participant

Time flies! It’s Sunday again! Another week had passed in a blink of an eye! I have been drained by the negative emotions; stresses, anger, unhappiness or sadness throughout the week. I need to recharge my mind stream with positive vibes, to feel peaceful and serenity in my heart again! So with that joyous motivation, I woke up early on Sunday just to attend the Auspicious Puja at BW Monastery.

When I reached the Auspicious Puja, I was greeted warmly by the friendly volunteers who showed me to the tea reception. My heart was captivated by the beautiful melody of the Insight Praises and I started singing with the choir as I felt Buddha’s loving kindness filling my entire body!

Topic Of The Day - Should I Be Humble To Someone Who Is Arrogant?

The discussion on this made me think about being stuck in a situation where I need to deal with someone who is full of arrogance, and I really wondered why should I even practice humility when faced such an unpleasant person.

Thus I was rather enlightened to learn that right from the start, we were all born with a pure mind, but as we grow older, we then became affected by situations and people around us. Unfortunately, some people became arrogant after attaining certain knowledge and experience.

But we can overcome such negative emotions by learning to be humble. There are so many benefits we gain when we become humble. Marvelous interpersonal relationship, ability to accept feedback on our shortcomings, having great mentors to guide us in our learnings, are just some benefits that we will experience.

Self-reflection

There is always so much to learn from attending the Auspicious Puja. The Puja had helped to answer some of my toughest questions in life. I felt like a different person, my mind had become clearer and much peaceful! Thank you, Auspicious Puja!

What’s The Topic Next Sunday?

If someone asked you what religion you belong to, would you tell him with pride that you are a Buddhist? Or would you hesitate? Could there be any misconceptions that brought about your hesitation?
