【The Origin of Suffering Dying with an ethically neutral mind
【The Origin of Suffering】- Dying with an ethically neutral mind

After your last final breath, the mind at the moment, the virtuous or nonvirtuous mind will no longer arise, no longer arise. It will no longer follow the virtuous or nonvirtuous thought. This is the state. So this is during the time of death. Therefore in regards to the state of the mind, this is something we need to discern. Hence in this section, the so called "dying with an ethically neutral mind," there are two different types. One type is that you don't have – that is during the time of coarse discrimination, there's no virtuous or nonvirtuous thought, hence making it ethically neutral. This is one state. And then, whether your mind is virtuous, nonvirtuous, or ethically neutral, when the coarse discrimination finally and gradually disappears, the subtle discrimination will always, always be ethically neutral. Therefore what determines you to go to the next life, the key is at the juncture of coarse discrimination. It is not during the time of the subtle discrimination. By the time this subtle discrimination arises, you can no longer change it. You will certainly go to that place.
