【Cultivating Ethical Behaviour】- There is no such thing as one being born as Maitreya

And so we shouldn't say, "Ah, Emptiness, Emptiness! We don't need anything else." The more one understands Emptiness, the more one would be mindful. Why? It is because one now knows that all teachings truly abide by the principles of Cause and Effect, and Dependent Arising. There is no inherent nature. Since everything is dependent arising, whatever cause and conditions that you have, you will reap the related fruit! Therefore, "The seed of becoming a Buddha arises from conditions, thus Buddha speaks of only one vehicle." Everything will depend on what causes you have planted, ... there is nothing that is not born that way. There is nothing such as "one being born as Maitreya or one naturally being Shakyamuni Buddha!" Therefore, the more one understands, the more one becomes even more vigilant. The principle is as such.

【 For once you understand Emptiness, you will see that it is the meaning of dependent-arising, and it will assist you in having certainty about karma and its effects. 】

What constitutes truly understanding Emptiness? It is to see “dependent arising.” Because of Emptiness, thus dependent arising. It is because of dependent arising, thus emptiness. Everything exists based on dependent causes and conditions. Therefore its nature is emptiness. Can you think of something that is naturally the way it is from the time it comes into existence? No. How was this table made? There! It began with a tree and you had to cut it down. This was made of wood. If it was made of iron and steel, then you needed iron and steel to make it. If you wish to have a table, there will be a person who will make it. He w byill go at it, go at it, and go at it until he succeeds. Which conditions/circumstances are not made this way? It’s just like that.

业果 : 没有天生弥勒

所以我们不要说：“啊，空了、空了！什么都不管。”他越空，那是越管，为什么？了解一切法的的确确是因果缘起，没有本质的自性，既然一切都是因果缘起，你有什么因什么缘，感什么果呀！所以，“佛种从缘起，是故说一乘。”都是看你的什么因，什么……没有天生来的这样的东西啊，没有“天生弥勒，自然释迦”！所以他越了解是越谨慎啊，这个道理就在这地方。所以下面说：

【解空性者，谓即见为缘起之义，是于业果发生定解为助伴故。】

真正了解空性的什么？欸，就是见到“缘起”，因为空，所以缘起；因为缘起，所以空。它一切都是因缘条件存在，所以它是空。你说你现在能够找得到一样东西天生来的吗？没有，这张桌子怎么做的？喏！树，你把它拿下来，这是木头做的；钢铁，是钢铁做的；你想要一张桌子，有一个人会做，弄、弄、弄成功了。眼前那一样东西不是？就是这样。
