我们平常所以不能修行的原因，就是缺少了推动我们修行的力量，晓得这个要修行，要好，但是就提不起来。那么我们以前听过那个各式各样的故事，那个故事都是这样的：哎呀，他去了，出了家也不行。结果跑到地狱里一看，跑到天堂上一看，哎呀！那个时候不管他年轻也好、年老也好，大家都拼命了。为什么？啊！原来看见这个情况是这么个严重。

【Intent of Liberation】- The reason for not being able to practice
The reason we cannot practice is because we lack the motivating force to practice. We know that practice needs to be good, but we just can't get motivated. So we have heard all sorts of stories in the past, a story goes like this, "Ah, he has gone there, it still didn't work after becoming ordained. But as he went to hell and heaven to look, ah! It didn't matter whether they were young or old, everyone desperately strived." Why? Ah! It is that they have seen how serious the situation is.
