忍辱 : 我是凡夫，所以？

不要说我是凡夫啊！ 「我──是凡夫，赶快努力啊！」要这样说。 「佛、菩萨、圣人已经成就了，他尚且还这么精进啊，我是凡夫再不努力更待何时啊！」这个是我们应该讲的话，注意！平常我们如果说第一句话，前者的话：我是个凡夫啊，叫我怎么、怎么、怎么做得到，这是佛菩萨的事情啊！那个等于是说讲刚才那个举的比喻当中，哎，这个人造卫星美不可言啊，可是你永远仰起头来，坐在那个地上，然后呢趴在地上去看它。不是，完全不是，修学佛法绝对不是这样的！

【Patience】- I am an ordinary being, therefore?

Do not say that I am [only] an ordinary being! “I…am an ordinary being, so I must quickly strive!”, this is what we should say. “Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and saints have already had attainment, yet they joyously persevere. I am an ordinary being and if I do not strive now, when will it be!?”, this is what we should be saying. Pay attention! When we usually say the first sentence, i.e. the former one, “I am [only] an ordinary being, how can you ask me, how can I, how can I do it? These are things done by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas!”, that would be equal to saying the same as the example used earlier — ah, the satellite is so beautiful beyond words. But you will always be looking up [into the sky], sitting on the ground and then laying on the ground looking at it. No, it is totally not [like this], training in Buddhism is absolutely not like this!
