亲近善知识 : 学到驴年

我们现在不要说没有善知识，是没有学的弟子。哪一个学的弟子？就是「我」啊！你现在来一直来学「我」，请问你学到哪一年啊？所以祖师说：「学到驴年去。」什么叫驴年啊？你看看那十二生肖当中有没有驴年哪？鼠、牛、虎、兔、龙、蛇、马、羊、猴、鸡、狗、猪，就是没个驴。所以转来转去，十二年当中，你们学到驴年，你学到哪年学不成，因为你学的「我」嘛！这是注意到  内支啊！那现在这地方都处处地方告诉我们，前面已经点出那个行相来了，然后呢后面再告诉我们，我们好好努力、努力，好好地努力！

【Relying on the excellent teacher】- Learn from Buddha/ Learning from yourself

Now, we should not say that there is no excellent teacher. [We should say] there is no student who want to learn! Who may the students be? It is the “self” ah! If you come to learn to increase more of the “self” then when would be your real attainment? That’s why the past lineage masters used to say “you would achieve in the year of the Donkey”. What is the year of the Donkey? If you look at the twelve Chinese Zodiacs, is there a year of the Donkey? There are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig, but there is no sign of the Donkey. So throughout the rotation of the signs every 12 years, when you say you will achieve in the year of the Donkey, it implies you will not achieve anything in any year. That is because you focus on learning about the “self”! Make a note of this – it is the internal factor! So in this part of the text and in many places as well, the text has pointed this out to us. Earlier, it has already pointed out this attitude of ours, then later it tells us again to really strive, to strive, to strive really hard at it!
