【先应思惟依止胜利速成佛等，及不亲近所有过患，谓能引发现法后世诸大苦等。】

我们每个人都有这个能力，而且很强盛的这个能力，你只要把这个能力稍微转变一个方向，求佛法马上成功。
这个能力是什么？就是你好乐要求的东西。譬如说我们现在听说，欸什么地方有一个大法师: 啊，这个法师好了不起! 或者说，这个地方打七怎么好，或者这个东西怎么好，你心里想：「哎呀，我一心一意要去求它！」 我想我们大家都有这个经验吧！在学校里念书的时候，哎哟，这个美国好，大家想留学；然后年纪稍微大一点的话，这个男女之间的，做梦也要梦到他。我们大家都有这个经验啊！千真万确的事实！为什么啊？它有殊胜的好处在。我们是不是每一个人都有这个力量？有嘛！可惜的是用错了，现在你只要把它改过来。它改过的一个方法还告诉我们——思惟。

【The Meditation Session】Actual session - How to sustain the meditation specifically

【First reflect on the benefits of relying on the teacher, such as quickly attaining buddhahood, and the drawbacks of not relying on the teacher, such as giving rise to suffering in this and future lives.】

Every one of us has this ability and we are very capable of doing this. All you have to do is to slightly shift the direction of your ability toward requesting for the teachings. Then [your quest for the teachings] will be an immediate success. What is this ability? That is, your ability to seek after what you desire. For instance, we hear that there is a great Dharma Master somewhere. Ah, he is magnificent! It could be the seven day retreat at a certain place is so excellent or something else is excellent. So you begin to think, "This is all I want!" I think we have all had this experience! When you were studying in school, [people would say,] "America is good". So, everyone wanted to study abroad. Once we got older, for the relationship between men and women, you would even dream of the other person. I think we have had this kind of experience! It is absolutely true! Why? It is because we see the great advantages [from doing that]. Doesn't everyone have this kind of ability? Of course! It is just too bad that it is misused. Now you just have to correct it. He tells us the way to correct this – reflection.
