High Tea 结邻里
东区邻里关怀两位负责人，杨茜湘、陈慧莲及东区干部们，带领大家一起 动一动、跳一跳 “小苹果健身操”。一轮下来大家气喘吁吁，看来实需多运动诶！
东北地区负责人卓玉珠，为大家准备了“结邻里、找知己”- Bingo 的游戏。另外二位陈佩芬、陈燕琼也在一旁协助。透过如此既趣味又有意义的游戏，学员们开始熟络、亲切地就结成邻里关系了！
High Tea Neighborly Get Together –The 5 Pillars of Care in the east/north-east zones have started！
On Sunday 18th June 2017, the sky was raining. It was wondered whether it would affect the participants' attendance. However, nearing 2pm, students started streaming in to a very warm welcome and hospitality by the Bliss Stars team. There were over 120 participants, filling the level 3 main shrine hall with a very joyous, and celebratory atmosphere!
Venerable Dao Ci gave an opening discourse, spurring everyone on the importance of care and how to materialize caring to those around us. The students felt the deep compassion radiated by Venerable!
The 2 Managers, Ms Lin Hui Ling and Mr Lim You Meng spontaneously performed a crosstalk that was both humorous and funny. What followed next were even more exciting activities!
The 2 east neighborly care group leaders, Ms Yang Qian Xiang and Ms Chen Hui Lian, together with the cadres, led all in a "have-a-shake , have-a-jump little apple aerobics". After doing one round, everyone was panting; looked like we all needed to exercise more!
North-east neighborly care group leader, Ms Zhuo Yu Zhu prepared a "know your neighbor, find your confidant” Bingo game. The other 2 facilitators, Ms Chen Pei Fen and Ms Chen Yen Qiong were also assisting. Through this exciting and meaningful game, the students started to know one another better and established a neighborly, friendly acquaintances with one another too!
After a round of physical activities, it High Tea time! Many thanks to the Bliss Chefs for preparing the delicious pastries: organic Bee Hoon, dark sugar sponge cake, desserts etc!
As everyone will encounter the important topic in life – facing death, the committee specially invited Senior Lecturer, Mr Wang Yi Zhe, to talk on ‘Before and after care for the Dying’.
Mr Wang shared how he had, in many years, helped a dying friend in his last journey of life, where the participants really treasured his heartfelt sharing of experience.
The most exciting and interesting part –The debate！
Debate about? Do we need The 5 Pillars of Care? The participants were divided into 2 groups – the proposition and the opposition. After a round of rigorous debate, the judge - current CEO, Mr Oh Kheng Ho, reminded everyone to learn the correct methods of caring and not to base on one's own method. Otherwise, it will bring more suffering and trouble to others! There is no doubt that through the debate, the neighborly care concepts have been etched in the hearts of each student!
Sincere thanks to the foresights and compassion of Venerable Jing Yuan. Venerable placed great importance and also hoped that Buddha's teachings can start from the community by caring for our neighbors, thereby benefitting more sentient beings! Being a Buddhist disciple, this is our responsibility and mission!
