1st Oct -Joyfeast at BW Monastery
On a rainy 1st Sunday in October, BW Monastery again hosted our "once a month" Joyfeast.
This is one of several programs by the monastery to pay back to society by offering free vegetarian meals to the public. Despite the rain, about 700 people turned up. They were of different age groups and races.
As a nostalgic remembrance, a group of Indians who helped in constructing the monastery's aluminum doors and windows came. What kind of connection to our Masters !
It was also a remembrance day for the family of Grace Lee Si Xian, who sponsored the event. Grace was a young member who passed away in an accident recently. Her mother wished to dedicate merits to her within 49 days of her death and had picked Joyfeast because it benefits everyone who come. Hence, its merits accumulated are unlimited.
Ven. Ben Si represented our monastery to present Grace's mother a letter of commendation for her sponsorship.
Besides our regular volunteers, we had a Lamrim class of PMET and a group of more than 20 residents living nearby in Woodlands joined us as new volunteers.
May all visitors & volunteers to Joyfeast be blessed by Triple Gems. Rejoice!
