Always strive to do good!
Would you choose to forgive your spouse who has betrayed you deeply in a marriage? Would you hold on to a dead-end relationship? Would you choose to pull off a spiteful revenge on your spouse who has done you wrong? Or would you choose to love unconditionally?
Most people tend to buy things which they deem as value-for-money, for instance, we will never go for green vegetables that looks droopy or has turned yellow. However, for the interest of your friends, would you buy these greens from him, just to help him in the greatest of all causes?
The teachers have cited many success stories of people who starts to feel the importance of doing virtuous actions after learning Lamrim. They choose to stay in this path to benefits others, making sacrifices not for personal gain. Although it is not easy to be a virtuous person at all times, there are two good things to remember: 1) stand firm in your faith, and 2) find peace of mind – savour the joy of Sutras and Chants, this will lead you down a path filled with greater happiness and purpose.
