Then hustle and bustle of modern life often leaves us overwhelmed and lost. The whole idea of mind-shifting, clearing one's mind, mindfulness training and meditation seem like a luxury that only some can afford.
Longing for a quiet and strong mind, I made a conscious effort to take an hour off from my hectic schedule and spent some quiet time with myself at the Walking Meditation session at BW Monastery.
On a Saturday morning after a draining week of work, I arrived at the Hall of Jewels and was greeted by a few like-minded individuals, who were also there to practise mindfulness training. The peace and tranquillity that the monastic environment offered immediately put us in the right frame of mind for reflection and introspection.
Carefully guided by the monastery’s venerables, we paced around the hall mindfully. With the rhythmic and mindful pacing, our minds started to quiet down and are conditioned to focus inward. It was truly a morning well-spent for me. With more of these sessions, I’m on my way to a more awakened living!
